Our mission is to facilitate outstanding sustainable healthcare solutions, reducing the risk of infection for patients and staff.

Whilst providing solutions that prevent infection and protect humanity, we also ensure that our brands promote a sustainable advantage for healthcare facilities around the world.

Reducing plastic products and packaging

Some plastic in healthcare is simply unavoidable due to its inherent characteristics, but that isn’t stopping us from continuously working with industry experts to develop new substrate and bio-plastic alternatives. Our brands are contributing towards a sustainable future for healthcare!

  • Vernacare Medical Pulp is made from over-issued recycled newspaper, and all products are 100% biodegradable
  • Our flushable and maceratable wipes are manufactured from cellulose plant-based fibres, which provide a more environmentally friendly alternative, whilst ensuring safe and hygienic disposal in a macerator or toilet
  • All Conti® dry wipes packaging is 100% recyclable
  • Plastic reduction exercise across all of our wipes packaging
  • Sharpsafe® accessories range is made from 100% recycled material
  • Clinisafe® cardboard waste containers use 70% recycled material

Making single-use sustainable

In many areas single-use products are the only way to successfully prevent infection spreading in healthcare environments and the recent COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted to the world the importance of minimising risk of transmission.

The Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) states that to reuse a single-use device without considering the consequences could expose patients and staff to risks which outweigh the perceived benefits of using the devices.
