Frank Collins, Chairman of Vernacare, Verna Group International (and all its subsidiaries), has been awarded an O.B.E in The Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The honour of Order of the British Empire has been bestowed in Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee birthday honours list in recognition of Frank's outstanding services to healthcare and the NHS.

Throughout his career, Frank has worked in healthcare and medical devices, rising to Chief Executive in large NHS Trusts and then on to leading Private Equity backed global healthcare/medical devices businesses as CEO and co-owner.

In this time, Frank has developed a portfolio career working as a non-executive Chairman for several Private Equity investment funds in a variety of life science and medical device businesses, with operations around the world including Japan, Australia, South Africa, Germany, France and the UK.

On being recognised in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2022 he said:

"To say that this has come as a surprise would be something of an understatement. I accept it with pride and in the clear knowledge that any contribution I might have made will be entirely as a result of the hard work and dedication of so many other people.

"Those committed individuals and teams who work at the wonderful NHS Trusts, which I have had the pleasure of leading as Chairman; or perhaps my skilled and hard-working colleagues within UK-based but internationally-focussed medical devices and life science businesses, that I have had, and continue to have, the privilege and enjoyment of working with for more than 30 years.

"To each and every one of my friends, colleagues and associates, past and present, I say "thank you" for your support."

Frank joined Verna Group International as Chairman at the time of HIG Capital's investment in the business in February 2020. He is also independent Board adviser to Medovate Ltd, backed by Mercia Investment Fund and he is Chairman of Bracebridge.

In January of 2022 Frank completed his 7-year term as Chairman of The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt NHS Trust, one of Europe's leading specialist orthopedic hospitals. Frank also has an Executive MBA and an MSc in Healthcare Leadership.
