Vernacare wins place on fastest-growing profit list
Vernacare, the healthcare product manufacturer has been named in the 22nd annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 league table. The special covid-19 edition of the annual league table ranks Britain’s fastest-growing private companies from profits over the past three years.
Lancashire-based Vernacare which now has manufacturing sites in Chorley, Bolton, Blackwood and Worksop is one of 13 new entrants at number 41. The company has grown international markets for its range of infection control products and introduced a Vaccines Solution team. The low dead space needles it supplies allow 20 per cent more out of each vial of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
James Steele, chief executive at Vernacare said:
“The past year has been significant for Vernacare as we’ve further consolidated our position as a global leader in infection control products as demand for single use solutions intensified during the pandemic. With a robust materials supply we were able to upscale production significantly to maintain our commitment to the NHS and fulfil demand from oversees.
“Our growth plan continues with the recent acquisition of Robinson Healthcare which broadens our portfolio of surgical solutions, and we will continue to innovate and be agile as a business to meet the needs of the market. Our needle supply business has rapidly grown to support the vaccine programme and our ability to produce low dead space needles ensures all economies can maximise the dosage.
“It’s great to be recognised in The Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 and we will hope to continue this growth during 2022.”
The Profit Track 100 league table is sponsored by BDO, Santander and UBS Wealth Management, and is compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
