WE’VE BEEN SUPPORTING YOU SINCE 2003

Manufactured in the UK using the highest quality materials, our Comfi™ range offers cost‑effective solutions for dressing retention and dermatological skin conditions. As UK manufacturers of the  market-leading range of tubular bandages and garments (chosen by 46% of prescribers), Vernacare consistently exceed customer’s expectations across the following areas:

  • Supply Chain Excellence: unlike alternative suppliers who rely on 3rd parties (often based overseas), we manufacture and supply all our tubular bandages from our UK site.

  • Quality Guaranteed: all our products are manufactured to the highest standards including Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC.

  • Dedicated Support: our dedicated customer services and global account management team will be on hand to support, whether you’re an end-user or distributor of our products.

SKIN CONDITIONS

Broken skin with painful open wounds and sores occur in genetic skin conditions. The barrier of the skin is often broken or blistered with just a slight touch, which can lead to further complications with infection and scarring. Unfortunately, these conditions can be inherited and it is estimated that around 500,000 people worldwide suffer from a group of genetic skin conditions called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB)1

There are 3 types of EB:

EB Simplex

The most common form of Epidermolysis Bullosa, EB Simplex (EBS) is characterised by a lack of adhesion of the skin directly above the basement membrane (the basal layer).

Dystrophic EB

Dystrophic EB (DEB) is a genetic skin condition characterised by a lack of adhesion of the skin under the basement membrane.

Junctional EB

Junctional EB (JEB) is characterised by a lack of adhesion of the skin through the basement membrane.

Currently there is no cure for EB, however, there are ways of managing it. The Comfi Range, endorsed by DEBRA and Wounds International UK. 2,  offer a variety of skincare solutions including garments and tubular bandages which make managing skin and wound care a lot easier.

As a long-term partner to the NHS, Vernacare has a proud heritage of delivering quality UK-made products across the globe for over 40 years.

We produce nearly 11,000 kilometres of ComfiFast and ComfiFast MultiStretch tubular bandages each year.

A number of our market-leading brands (including Comfi) are manufactured at our Lancashire facility, employing over 200 people and occupying over 80,000
square feet. To become a truly patient-centred service, a cultral shift is required within the NHS focusing on improving the patient experience. This experience is directly linked to the quality of care they receive and the quality of the products used to deliver that care.
