A vacancy has recently arisen for a Shift Maintenance Technician
The Engineering department at our Bolton site currently has an exciting opportunity for someone to join them as a Shift Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias).
The purpose of this challenging role is to be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment at Vernacare Limited and to assist in conjunction with others, the optimisation of the manufacturing process of pulp moulded products to the standards of service and quality required by Vernacare and its customers.
You will have served a formal apprenticeship and have a minimum of 2-3 years maintenance experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment, with a good working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including Inverters, PLC’s, Motors, Conveyors, Pumps, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
Electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills are essential. Also, knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Regulations is required. An NVQ level 2/3 or City & Guilds qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential.

Ideally, you will possess a continuous improvement mind-set and participate actively in the achievement of personal, departmental and company goals and objectives. You will possess leadership skills to mentor and motivate others. Good communication skills are essential, including written, verbal and PC based.
The ability to work overtime including weekends is essential.
